Morning in Charcoal

Morning in Charcoal

“B” was back today. I spent the morning sketching her poses using charcoal, a medium I tend to avoid.
18”x 24” charcoal

  2. Why do you tend to avoid this, it's so awesome, does it leave all your clothes stained for life? :)

    1. Too much erasing and blending is part of the process. I like mediums that are more direct. I like lines..

  3. How DO you achieve such fabulous results with charcoal?
Wow...look at that wonderful skin tone...all that blending certainly does pay off.
She is presented here as incredibly sensual and sexy...and so, so alive! :)

    1. Thank you
I appreciate the praise. I have been drawing with charcoal for years. I do like what can be accomplished with the medium. I don’t enjoy the process of smearing and erasing though, required for good results.
