Seated Now

Seated Now

Waiting for a listener
to repeat memories.
To allow the images,
The noises in the silence
to go away.

Some views of “RS”. She comes around from time to time. She sits and allows us to sketch her.
17”x 14” ink (ten minute views)

10”x 12” ink and watercolor (too much time)

  1. Lovely as she sits and watches the world around her. Great sketch!

  2. Wow, the ink does the miracles...like a net connecting the pieces from the past...she really looks like from XIX century.

    1. The ink makes it all a little too permanent, unfortunately. Memories are harder to erase, haunting reminders of an unavoidable future.

  3. Those noises in the silence...that excite (or, indeed, plague) us all from time to time...are powerfully in evidence here.
Yes, they need to be externalized...to ease the burden a little.
I would love to listen...the intrigue is drawing me ever nearer.
Those colours in the final one are amazing! :))

    1. The silent noise is always there when sketching these portraits, and seems more vibrant and usually sad in the faces with more living behind than ahead.
      Thank you
