Window Seat Tears

Window Seat Tears
I noticed them at the Victoria and Albert while taking photos of sculptures I thought I would practice sketching someday. Taken a few years ago, I still feel a little guilty about this photo I used as a reference for the sketch.

  1. Drawing is not intrusive, but taking of photo would be, you caught a tragedy, real tears, and I am touched by this sad moment

    1. The drawing is not intrusive, but only if based on memory. To be there sketching would be even worse. Of course my camera was out photographing sculptures in the gallery space.. It was a moment I knew I would later want to make into art.

  2. Oh this is so sad!
I wonder what tragedy has been imprinted into the fabric of this window seat for the rest of eternity?
Could it be a bereavement? A lost love?
Whatever it is, I long to step into the picture and just hug them...

    1. I hope it wasn’t something bad. I actually found it sort of endearing, one comforting the other in need, real friends sharing.. So much better than facing what hurts on your own.

  3. Yes I didn't mean sketching immediately but in the privacy of your own home, I can't imagine you getting closed to this sad moment, and say If you don't mind, don't move ;)
