  1. true, there's always a price attached, and yours should be very high, for this outstanding sketch an air of not quite despondency but resignation that's what I see in the face of the woman to the right the one to the left tells me Thank God they're gone...

    1. So many stories are possible. I wasn’t sure where I was going with these two. I was too caught up in the drawing of them.
      I’m so glad you have. And I like the story, giving the image a bit of a past to dwell upon, and maybe for another sketch to see what happens to those who weren’t left on the dock.

  2. It's the end of the day...their work is done.
    The one on the right is tired and is wishing to be somewhere else.
    The one on the left, however, has energy still. She could happily stay and pose all night.
    I am expecting them to step off the paper at any moment...

    1. They are definitely of different frames of mind. This might have been better if I’d sketched each in a similar pose.
      The idea of stepping off the page interests me.. Maybe one should be walking off the sketch?
