Island and a Few Clouds

Island and a Few Clouds
I’ve been going to post this for a while. This was drawn a couple of weeks ago when the model didn’t show up on time. I started sketching one of my islands in the corner of the sheet I had up on the easel, waiting. When she finally appeared, I used the sheet to sketch gestures from her one and two minute poses.
This reminded me of days as a kid when on my islands. I’d lie back and spend hours looking at the clouds, finding shapes in them.

    1. Thank you… Sometimes not having time to draw more helps with style. Less is usually better than more when it comes to art.

  3. Oh how I love the image of the Goddesses in the sky, protecting the lonely little island!
    This is fabulous.
It's as if the figures are the Island's Soul...the way they seem to rise up out of the heart of the land.
    This is so, so beautiful.:)

    1. And I was satisfied with the clouds performance art. I definitely need the potential story here of the goddesses connection to my islands.
      Thank you

  4. Good times...all those cloud movies. How delicately they float by....much as your model does here.

    1. They were good times… So I’m now wondering why these good times are in the past. I could lay back in the local park and watch the latest. It’s not the same. The clouds look like animals and objects, and sometimes faces. Maybe it’s was just better as a youth on familiar islands? Maybe it was easier too see?
