One With Shoals

One With Shoals
Islands off Solitaire
I spent the day sketching, still lost in the islands, looking for another story hidden within so many lines.
8.5”x 5.5” black and white ballpoint on toned grey paper

  1. Darkness in the Isle of Solitude is awesome and pushes away the clarity of the moon less it be seen, wow Anthony

    1. This one does have a dark foreboding feel. I like. The light of the moon fits very well.
      Thank you

  2. it is like a portal for me, to go through to hear no traffic, see no people...be within the island of solitude is only for a moment, yet makes the rest more bearable

    1. While sketching these, I also find myself far away in the islands, silencing, for a while, the maddening crowd☺

  3. For each of us, it is different. My son plays loud music to silence the voices in his head. For me, this just adds another level of noise. There is something so "back to basic" about being nude outdoors. It quiets many things, although awakens others :)

    1. For me, “back to basics” outdoors brings back memories of when I didn’t care if I was alone or not☺.
Just sketching images like this evokes a desire for such freedom from the foolishness, where the nudity isn’t important, yet the emotional desire to express nakedness is.
Well….. That sounds right. I’m not sure I can explain it☺
