The First Twenty Minutes

The First Twenty Minutes

A few recent warm-up drawings of the first twenty minutes of a typical life drawing session. These were with “GE”, “P” and “J”. Their one, two, and sometimes five minute gesture poses each placed on a single page. It’s more a matter of not wasting paper, than the attempt for composition. Sometimes though; a pleasant surprise.
1st: “GE” 24”x 18”charcoal
2nd: “P” 24”x 18” graphite and pastel
3rd: “J” 24”x 18” oil sanguine and colored pencil.

  1. It feels like explosion of all emotions, maybe expression of overwhelmed day(s), projection of ideas and actions of searching for its way subconscience ...very interesting

    1. The sense of movement is much easier to display with multiple images..

  2. These are a lot like my thoughts today...rather jumbled and entangled - in the best possible way, of course!...or maybe more like dreams that linger tantalizingly just after you wake.
I am very intrigued...can see more each time I look, especially in the third one.:)

    1. Self reinforcing self, sort of.. If only we could do the same sometimes. Reinforcements would help.
      Thank you
