A
Surprise Visit by the Queen
“MA”
replaced a scheduled model who had a last minute conflict.
A
pleasant surprise.
“MA”
is a favorite.
Here
are some of the sketches from the session yesterday afternoon.
First
three: 17”x 14” ballpoint pen
Last:
9”x 12” fountain pen, sanguine and chalk on toned paper
And your pleasant surprise from "MA" turned into some very pleasant and wonderful sketches that I enjoyed very much!

They look like mysterious transformation to queen as she is on the last sketch....Magical!
ReplyDeleteHer gesture poses were so much more fun than the long pose at the end. She has been modeling for over fifty years. I’ve seen other artists paintings of her when she was younger. I see her the younger her in each of these, the real magic☺
Deleteoh yeah she couldn't wait to see you Heaven knows how many different clothing she went through before deciding on the best for Her The Queen and You the Artist who made her QUEEN, wonderful portrait , wonderful you, always Anthony
ReplyDeleteIt was good to see her..
DeleteShe was the queen around here long before I started drawing her..
Thank you
Oh I love how she gradually emerged from the original chaotic "crowd"...into this wonderfully evocative persona!
ReplyDeleteShe is, indeed, Regal in every sense of the word...I feel compelled to curtsy before her.
Anthony...how brilliantly you've captured her very essence here.
I am overawed...:)
It was an enjoyable session. She provides wonderful poses. It wa so good to see her.
