Uncomfortable Throne
I’m still not sure if I see “GR” seated within
a rock formation scanning an island shore, or on the blanketed over stool and
furniture used for the pose. He indicated he was comfortable, yet at any moment
I saw him ready to jump up and chase away any soul who stepped onto his shore.
I’m sure you can see the turmoil one goes
through when sketching such a pose…
24”x 18” ebony graphite and pastel on colored
paper
I love the pattern you are embedding.
ReplyDeleteThe ebony graphite works particularly at laying down such backgrounds.
DeleteLooking for his retinue? squad? to enter the room and keep the rest in the order? Are we witnessing the formation of future king of Islands? sort of... :)
ReplyDeleteHe does appear to need subjects to order around, bring a few pillows or something☺
DeleteI do sense his being uncomfortable!
ReplyDeleteWonderful sketch ... you are such a good artist!
He just seemed so ready to pop out of the pose. He didn’t. it was uncomfortable to draw..
DeleteThank you
Bonjour cher Anthony,
ReplyDeleteEffectivement vous avez bien capturé son "mal-être" car je suppose que dans cette position inconfortable, son dos devait souffrir au bout d'un certain temps ! Néanmoins, très joli travail de votre part !
Joyeux printemps !
❀ Gros bisous ❀
Yes some back support might have helped..
DeleteYes spring is showing on the calendar. It comes sooner every year☺ Happy Spring to you too…
Thank you
oh how you do he is so uncomfortable looks more like he's sitting on thorns than throne, you have that ability to make a mood, nobody but you Anthony, wow
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, there was a cushion below the blanket on the stool. I think it is the unusually straight back “GR” maintained..
DeleteThank you
Gosh yes...he does appear somewhat uncomfortable perched there on his rocky throne (oh I realize it is a stool he is sitting on, but I can only see hard rocks beneath his poor, aching buttocks!).
ReplyDeleteI fully understand your turmoil, Anthony...but I am sure he is poised to jump up and chase any trespassers who have the audacity to arrive, uninvited, upon his shore!
Brilliant! :)
Now that he is drawn, I am more comfortable with his stance, his poise to take on the chase..
DeleteThank you
of course you would you take care of your models, they know it....and they love you for it, as we do all of your visitors I predict many more in the near future
ReplyDeleteNot sure they love me… I do try to keep the favorites gainfully employed☺
