Morning and Spring

Morning and Spring

Some sketches of “SH” from this morning’s session.
Couldn’t resist drawing a shore line behind.
Both: 9”x 12” fountain pen, sanguine and chalk on toned paper.

  1. These sketches are wonderful and adding the shore line makes them all the more so ...
    Great work, as always ..

And I really want to thank you for sharing your sketches as I so enjoy seeing them.
I am not good at adding a story to them as Ygraine and Lorraine so very often do ... all I know is I really enjoy seeing your work!

  3. Oh to have a beach like this to oneself...to sit in the sun, or wade in the cool water as she appears to be doing in the second one...sheer bliss! I so want to step in and explore the shoreline...all my troubles left far behind in suburbia...:)

    1. Well put. To leave our troubles in suburbia would be great. I can usually figure out how to get to the shore, even when the model is on a grey stage in a studio..

  4. Especially like the second sketch. Looks like she is contemplating possibilities.

    1. It was a warm spring day here too. I could see slips of it between the shades pulled down over the windows at the studio.. Made me want to place her somewhere else.
