know they are strangers. Maybe not?
The
wide red belt caught my attention. I didn’t notice him until later.
On a side street, maybe taking a short cut,
following the same path, one morning while in Paris last month.

These simple images, a woman with a red belt, a guy walking behind, me at the intersection with a main street looking down the side street at them, following them with my eyes. The stories go through my head.. I start imagining the next sketch I’ll never get around to, maybe the guy catching up to her and commenting on the belt, mostly because when I turn I see two old lovers on a bench, the woman pecking the bearded old man on his nose, and I’m off on another story that will last only a few minutes, and my head explodes☺

ReplyDeleteGuess I’m a little frustrated with myself… so many stories and potential sketches leaves me in irons, where to stop, what to work on, or maybe the next excuse to procrastinate?

DeleteAnthony, sketches are so much better than photos once a person gets the basics down and actually is an artist. You are certainly the guy has done this. I dip in now and then and each time I see obvious improvement. There is no substitute for doing the work. I have said this before, I suppose. Today I say it about your words too. A great story caught by hand and mind and heart.
