L’Oceania
The sculptor of L’Oceania was Mathurin Moreau.
I’m
finally getting around to sketching the last two of the Six Continent
Sculptures at the entrance of Musee d’Orsay. I saw them in Paris on a visit
last month. I sketched the first four referenced below based on my own photos
from the visit. For L’Oceania I had to use a photo off the Internet. I didn’t
photograph the last two. I’m not sure why.
Now
only L’Europe is left.
9”x
12” fountain pen and chalk on toned grey paper.

Ha...Ygraine managed to visit before she headed off to the wilds!!
ReplyDeleteThis is indeed beautifully drawn...she is amazing.
I see her as a Guardian, in the corner of my bedroom...have no idea why...she just exudes such power...:)
I’m so glad you visited before you trip.. Maybe I’ll have L’Europe done before you return.
