L'Oceania

L’Oceania

The sculptor of L’Oceania was Mathurin Moreau.
I’m finally getting around to sketching the last two of the Six Continent Sculptures at the entrance of Musee d’Orsay. I saw them in Paris on a visit last month. I sketched the first four referenced below based on my own photos from the visit. For L’Oceania I had to use a photo off the Internet. I didn’t photograph the last two. I’m not sure why.
Now only L’Europe is left.
9”x 12” fountain pen and chalk on toned grey paper.

This is indeed beautifully drawn...she is amazing.
I see her as a Guardian, in the corner of my bedroom...have no idea why...she just exudes such power...:)
