L'Amerique du Nord

L’Amerique du Nord

This is another sketch of the Six Continent Sculptures at the entrance of the Musee D’Orsay, from my time in Paris last week. The sculptor was Ernest Eugene Hiolle’s.
I know, only three more..
9”x 12” fountain pen and chalk on toned grey paper.

    1. Thank you..
The sculptures are real, as the models from each probably once were too.
Eventually all six will show up here.

  2. She does so remind me of one of our ancient Nordic Goddesses!
According to her attire, I would guess she is one of the Warrior Goddesses...a Guardian of the land.
With one such as Her to protect me...ha...the sky's the limit!! LOL

I can really relate to this one...;)

  5. You have captured the mass and weight so well in this sketch...one can almost feel the texture of the stone.
