L’Amerique
du Nord
This
is another sketch of the Six Continent Sculptures at the entrance of the Musee
D’Orsay, from my time in Paris last week. The sculptor was Ernest Eugene
Hiolle’s.
I
know, only three more..
9”x
12” fountain pen and chalk on toned grey paper.
and again, brilliant oh how I love how real they look, through your talent, only 3? believe me I WISH there were many more, you are so talented
ReplyDeleteThank you..
DeleteThe sculptures are real, as the models from each probably once were too.
Eventually all six will show up here.
She does so remind me of one of our ancient Nordic Goddesses!
ReplyDeleteAccording to her attire, I would guess she is one of the Warrior Goddesses...a Guardian of the land.
With one such as Her to protect me...ha...the sky's the limit!! LOL
I can really relate to this one...;)

I’m assuming the sculptor was thinking goddess too, though maybe native American in this case..
DeleteNorth American, tell-tale tummy, really where is a weight problem the most common...North American...
ReplyDeleteIt’s just the way the light was hitting.
DeleteYou have captured the mass and weight so well in this sketch...one can almost feel the texture of the stone.
ReplyDeleteSo many shadowy areas help.
