The
Bather
Sketching
sculptures at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
This
is a sketch of Albert Toft’s sculpture “The Bather” (1915).
I
should have started a little smaller, to get all of her on the page.

12” fountain pen and chalk on toned grey paper
Bonjour cher Anthony,
ReplyDeleteSimplement merveilleux... On peut sentir que vous aimez le travail de ce sculpteur.
Gros bisous ♡
Thank you.
DeleteI can imagine the artist creating this from a block of marble.
Yours one day will be the one hanging...and bloggers will walk buy and say hey, i know him, we use to blog together...it's really a great sketch
ReplyDeleteThis site is where I post my daily progress and events related to my art. I don’t think this will change. I need a place like this as incentive to do draw and/or paint every day.
DeleteThank you though for the thought. It would be nice to see more of my work hanging on other peoples walls☺
Wow! Fabulous sense of period to this one...it really feels like I've stepped back in time!
ReplyDeleteThe way her contours are highlighted in white gives the impression of a monochrome photograph.
You've truly created a masterpiece...:)
I think the ink and chalk on toned grey paper contributes to the monochrome look. I thought the female form of this sculpture looked quite modern.
DeleteThank you so much
This is wonderful - beautiful variety in your lines - you really captured the gesture!
