Unexpected Visit

Unexpected Visit

Yesterday’s sketch of “GE” in an hour long pose.
I wasn’t expecting to see him until later in the week. He’ll be back this Friday.
18”x 24” ebony graphite and pastel on colored paper.

  1. Bonjour cher Anthony,

Je suis très heureuse de retrouver votre modèle dans ce superbe dessin... Il semble bien installer ! Cela ne m'étonne pas qu'il veuille revenir ! sourire... ☺︎
    ❀ Gros bisous ❀

  2. This is an exceptional sketch!
He has a great face, to me that shows strength of character (I believe I left that comment before on another sketch of "GE"
That is what I see though...

    1. Thank you
He does present a face of experience and character that is so much fun to draw and paint.
The community of models I draw and paint from is quite small. They are becoming old friends. Coming up with new comments to describe them is expected less between old friends☺

  3. Quite the presence he is, beautifully drawn, the people who act as your models are obviously extremely at ease with you, they know you'll draw them at they are, and that's what they need, there you are making him come alive for us, he looks like a nice man, and you always always draw him, exactly as he is, wonderful you

    1. His features don’t seem to change, and have become familiar over time, which makes it easier. Many, especially the younger models seem more in transition, with a less established look. They are more of a challenge.
Yes he is a nice man..
      Thank you

  4. Unexpected...though more than welcome!
Wow...he is so "alive" that I fully expect him to move at any moment...and what a face! He has one of the most expressive faces I have ever seen...and your magic touch only further enhances that quality.
    Truly stupendous! :)
