“D”
Offering Hand
The morning yesterday was spent drawing some
poses “D” provided at a drop in life drawing session.
The hand was offered for almost a half hour.
She hardly moved it at all. I was considering adding a hand reaching in to
accept her offer. But the pose ended as I scribbled in the background instead.
9”x 12” ballpoint pen on toned grey paper
She looks so lonely there, with no hand accepting hers...I long to step into the picture just to keep her company!
ReplyDeleteA really great drawing - as always Anthony :)
I should have included the hand☺

Wow, that's amazing.
ReplyDeleteI agree, one wants to see the person she's reaching out to.
The artist receiving the offer was obviously someone else in the studio☺ The model stage was in the middle. We were in the round.

I like the mystery that this drawing leaves to one's imagination. What or who is she reaching out for? Is she dancing to music that only she can hear? So much is left to the viewer's eye that a story, or stories can be written...wonderful, Anthony~~~
ReplyDeleteI do agree.. The sketch is begging for a story..

I love how she reached out ....to what? to whom? there is a story I can make up but let's leave it to the imagination, ps the woman must have great stamina... still miss (my) your Islands of Solitudes
ReplyDeleteShe made the pose look easy. Holding an arm out for a half hour had to have hurt a bit. There are more Island images on the way..
