Portraying History

Portraying History

He was standing perfectly still on the Royal Mile in Edinburg, the route up to Edinburg Castle. The crowd of tourist and performers in town for the Fringe floating around him didn’t distract my imagination from the history of those like him once along the same route.
6”x 9” watercolor and ink

  2. Oh this is wonderful!
It certainly does evoke a powerful sense of history...of long tradition.
He could be from now...or centuries ago...
I love the timelessness of this great painting :)

    1. He is definitely from now, on display. He even puts on a short show, maybe as part of the Fringe. I didn’t show the collection hat at his feet for contributions to such images for us of the past.
      Thank you
