A Matter of Scale

A Matter of Scale

This island once was large enough to dream of as a vast private world.
It still is sometimes.

  1. it kept its beauty and aura of solitudes even though it shrank to almost nothing...when are we going to wake up to this ugly phenomenon, when is someone in power going to say enough or enough people start complaining in the way that is the most effective stop consuming everything except food. Maybe then we will be taken seriously. You don't need trees if no one buys anything, you don't need to cut forests if one buys houses, when we stop watching sports, they won't be paid so much and , will have no money to destroy more earth stop going the movies that'll shut down quick, restaurants, exercises outfits that cost a fortune, weight loss programs that cost millions ...someone have the courage to start, for me it's easy to stop all of this because I'm agoraphobic but hey I'm as bad I drive a car gosh your painting got me going...how to start, what to do? what difference can I make?

    1. This painting was drawn with the intent to be enjoyed. View and dream and escape all the other stuff☺
These islands actually exist on Lake Huron. They haven’t been compromised. They are still a wonderful place to retreat to and find solitude.

    2. Love your sense of balance. But probably this Island just for while, right, for retreat.

    3. When I was young, I thought the island perfect forever, to have my own private world.
The scale of imagination grows too☺

  2. Oh this is truly the stuff of reveries...that kind we escape to in our minds when life is becoming too demanding.
I have been here many times, and will be again...:)
