Not a Portrait
of “J”
She
doesn’t look like this. She didn’t look like this while I was painting her. But
by the end of this morning’s session I had this portrait of this person, sort
of invented and of whom I sort of came to like.
15”x
20” watercolor on cold press
Wow, you maybe caught her hidden side...What did she say when see the portret?
ReplyDeleteI didn’t catch any of her sides. I draw and paint “J” a lot. I have yet to come away with a portrait I’m satisfied with. I’ve been closer though than what I came away with yesterday. On the other hand I do sort of like this image that appeared.
DeleteShe’s still waiting for a portrait from me that looks like her☺
Indeed strange but I see Picasso, before he became famous he always wore a Beret 'cause it was the fashion he Paris, you don't see it but he's not happy not far there is a painting he just painted, and he thinks who would ever buy this trash cubic nonsense is what it it...maybe that's what he thought...oh your art -fertile grounds from my oh so imaginary mind....
ReplyDeleteAre you saying I see Picasso when I look at “J”? She was wearing a beret. I’m not sure I’ll pass this on to “J”. I want her to pose for me again next week giving me another try☺
DeleteNo I see Picasso before he became famous he was thin then, later when he became a success he put on weight...ya If you need her to pose for you oh please do not show her my comment
DeleteVery wonderful and expresive portrait !!!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend !!!
Thank you
DeleteAve a nice weekend too…
Perhaps you have captured an inner aspect of "J"...a hidden part of her psyche, or possibly even a past life.
ReplyDeleteMakes me wonder who we all really are.
Do we really know?
You are kind and give me skills I don’t have. I have enough trouble capturing what we can all see of her on the outside, much less find what she hides within.
DeleteII wonder too who we really are… It makes my head hurt☺
